Criteria Adds WTMA, Leading Mechanical Aptitude Test, to HireSelect®
LOS ANGELES, CA - Criteria Corporation announced today that it has signed an agreement with Psychological Assessment Resources (PAR), Inc., a leading test publisher, to license the Wiesen Test of Mechanical Aptitude. Criteria will adapt the WTMA for electronic delivery through Criteria's HireSelect® employee testing service.
The WTMA measures an individual's mechanical aptitude, or ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery. The WTMA is a 30-minute test that predicts performance for occupations that involve the operation, maintenance, and servicing of tools, equipment and machinery. The WTMA has been shown to correlate highly with other standard measurements of mechanical aptitude, and to have less adverse impact on women and minorities than do older mechanical aptitude tests.
"We are pleased to be the first company to offer the WTMA online," said Josh Millet, CEO of Criteria. "The WTMA is one of the most thoroughly validated measures of mechanical aptitude available today. We believe that adding the WTMA to HireSelect's test portfolio will help us better serve our customers, especially companies in the manufacturing sector."
