Just Released: The 2019 Pre-Employment Testing Benchmark Report

title

Today we’ve released the second annual Pre-Employment Testing Benchmark Report for 2019. When we launched the first report last year, our goal was to understand how companies make hiring decisions and what their biggest priorities are in today’s hiring landscape. We put out a survey asking hiring professionals to share their insights, and we got a wide range of responses from people across all industries and company sizes. The results ran the gamut from relatively intuitive to completely surprising!

Here’s just a sneak peek of what you’ll find:

1. Is hiring finally slowing down?

The number of job openings has been climbing for years, but that may be starting to change. Our respondents say they predict that their hiring needs will drop significantly from 2019 to 2020.

2. HR spending is still strong.

Even though hiring demands will shift downwards, HR spend is still on the rise. Hiring professionals expect to have even bigger budgets than they did the last year

3. The challenges of hiring are felt by all.

Ghosting is on the rise, and employers are facing the biggest challenges in both the quality and the quantity of their applicant pools.

4. Hiring confidence has taken a hit.

Hiring challenges have put things into perspective, as hiring professionals are a little less confident about their hiring practices than they were last year.

5. Pre-employment tests play a growing role in hiring.

92% of respondents found that the biggest benefit of pre-employment assessments was better quality of hire.

6. Companies measure “hiring success” in many different ways.

Job performance and retention were the biggest metrics that companies used to evaluate the success of their hiring programs.
